Established for over 60 years, Botany Cranes is your one-stop-shop for lift and shift, crane truck hire, franna crane hire and more in Sydney.

We also provide transport services with a low loader and semi-trailers. We have 2 full-time mechanics to ensure all our cranes and equipment are regularly serviced and maintained to keep breakdowns to a bare minimum and to ensure that are kept in safe working condition at all times.

Botany Cranes has an experienced workforce operating and dogging the cranes as well as the management team including 2 site supervisors to visit sites to assess crane requirements prior to crane attending site and provide WHS documents as required with the assistance of our WHS officer.


Our workshop is fully equipped to repair, service and maintain our equipment. Botany Cranes habe three mechanics on staff that fully qualified and experienced, meaning our cranes show up to your site ready to perform.

Specialising in complete lift and shift solutions, we regularly operate in Bondi, Randwick, Bronte, Coogee, Cronulla, Maroubra, St George, Neutral Bay, Mossman, Manly, Dee Why, Palm Beach, Belrose, Clontarf, Menai, Inner West and greater Sydney. Botany Cranes is a leading provider of franna crane hire, crane truck hire and mini crane rental as well as crane services to the civil construction, marine, electrical, plumbing and gas industries. We also service the government, defence force, ports and residential and commercial sectors. 

Our modern fleet of Franna cranes, rough terrain cranes, crane trucks, all-terrain cranes and mini crawler cranes are available for short and long term hire. Every crane in our fleet is OH&S tested and regularly serviced and maintained for optimal onsite performance. We have cranes for all types of residential, commercial and industrial projects.

To deliver a broad scope of lift and shift services, we have experienced, qualified and ticketed operators and dogmen available. Our operators have the industry knowledge and heavy lift expertise to handle projects of any scale in different conditions and terrains. Because of their previous experience in construction and many other trades, our lift and shift team are flexible to the demands of your project, as well as having a strong understanding of the geographical variations that exist regionally. Our crane operators are dedicated to providing safe and efficient lift and shift service.

Damian has worked in the crane and access industry for thirteen years. A motor and marine mechanic by trade, Damian started out on the tools and gradually worked his way up whilst working as an employee for Botany Cranes

Tony started his career by carrying out an apprenticeship in bricklaying. Tony then spent the next 20 years running his own bricklaying business working in the construction industry throughout Sydney. Tony then joined 


Botany Cranes working as a dogman and later as crane operator before moving into his current role as Field Representative. During this time he has carried training in WHS Risk Management for Supervisors & Managers, Selling and Traffic Control worksite planning. As of February 2016 Tony became the Assistant Manager with Botany Cranes.



Jason has been involved in the Building Industry for the past 22 years. Starting his career as an apprentice Electrician whilst working on The SOPA site during the 2000 Olympic Games. Following this he went on to work with Ausgrid


for approximately 10 years within in the Confined Space Rescue Division then continuing with Ausgrid in the Metering Division. During his time as a Metering Technician Jason took on the role of Field Trainer and Assessor in conjunction with the Health and Safety Committee as a WHS Consultant.

As well as a busy career, Jason has been actively involved in Coaching Rugby League for the past 15 years. Working with South Sydney Rabbitohs, St George Illawarra Dragons, North Sydney Bears and The USA Hawks in their 2017 World Cup Campaign.

In 2014 Jason started a Not For Profit Charity, Young Guns Foundation.

The foundation was formed to help local teenagers pursue their passion for Rugby League, giving them an opportunity to train, help to feed them and to be apart of a safe environment. Through this charity funds were raised to send 17 teenagers to Papua New Guinea for an exhibition game of Rugby League of which Fox Sports aired a documentary, showcasing the trip “Back on Track”.

Jason joined the team at Botany Cranes in February of 2019 as our COO and WHS Manager. Jason is responsible for the day to day running of the business and ensuring all WHS policies and procedures are adhered to.

Jason works closely with all staff from the Managing Director, Office staff to Crane Crew and Trainers to ensure Botany Cranes is sustainable whilst maintaining our culture and values within our family run business. Currently holding his C6 Licence and Dogman’s Licence, Jason will often find himself out in the field amongst our crew offering assistance where required.



Tara is a return to work mum raising 3 boys aged, 6, 11 and 18. Having worked and owned in retail previously Tara has extensive experience in customer service and prides herself on attention to detail and helping all customers


achieve their goal, big or small.

Tara joined Botany Cranes in September 2018 as an Allocator’s assistant and is currently our Bookings Coordinator.

At Botany Cranes Tara is responsible for liaising with all customers to oversee the initial booking of the schedule, working with all field reps to generate quotes as well as working closely with our suppliers to coordinate all permits and traffic control requirements.

In Tara’s spare time she enjoys volunteering at Ronald McDonald House Westmead and travelling locally and overseas.
